Merry Artists Instructions for removal of items:

We are nearing the end of the Merry Artists Event for 2024. Here is what you need to know to close the show.

  • We will not accept any more inventory for Merry Artists after December 18.
  • Beginning on December 22, 2024 you will be able to request labels for new items coming into the shop starting January 1, 2025. Any items which will carry over from Merry Artists DO NOT NEED NEW LABELS.
  • AUTHORS – YOU DO NOT NEED TO GET NEW LABELS FOR YOUR BOOKS
  • Our inventory will be completely cleared on December 31 after hours.
  • On January 1 you MUST come to Goodyear or send a representative to pick or manage your items. We must clear the Gallery of ALL Merry Artists items and clean the Gallery for the incoming show. ALL Christmas related items must be removed.
  • On January 1, you may bring 10, preferably new, items for the shop. Those items will be dropped off and accepted for display. We will have a designated area for items you wish to transfer from Merry Artists to the shop. You are responsible for moving those items to that area.
  • Any items left behind will be moved to the second floor. We will not be responsible for loss or damage.
  • On January 2 the new Gallery Show opens, and we will be working to reset the Goodyear shop.

Please, please, please do not be one of those who ignores the request to pick up – yes that happens. We know you have families and visitors and New Year’s plans. Our team works tirelessly to set this show up and decorate the cottage and the logistics of tearing down, cleaning and putting away decorations and display items is daunting. Moving items which were not picked up last year was a phenomenal task. It takes volunteers countless hours to carry everything to a central place for short term storage.

We hope to have the shop ready to receive visitors by January 3.

If you can, please volunteer on January 1 to help us with the clean-up. It takes a village.

Thank you.  Any questions can be directed to Jackie Becker at Jackie.becker@jekyllartists.com

Instructions for entering items into Merry Artists

  • You may enter items at any time up to midnight November 20th.  Labels will be printed and placed in your folders.  This year’s maximum price is $500.00.  Any items already at Goodyear over $500.00 must be removed by November 20th.
  • Intake will be Saturday and Sunday November 23rd and 24th from 9-3 in the Goodyear Kitchen.   There is no limit to quantity of items you may enter except Wall Art, Pottery and Jewelry.  Wall Art is limited to 5 pieces per artist. Pottery and Jewelry are limited to an initial 20 pieces. Paintings must be originals, not prints, and framed.  Paintings which are Gallery wrapped and photographs printed on metal or glass are allowed for hanging.  Prints must be wrapped and placed in bins.  We discourage any reproduction of trademarked items, i.e. Jekyll Island Logo
  • Pottery Intake: Potters bring labels ONLY to the kitchen on Friday the 22nd from 9-11 or 1-3.  Then labels will be taken home and put on your items.  Drop off pieces to Goodyear on Sunday the 24th from 1-3 and Monday, the 25th from 9-12.
  • We ask, but do not require, that artists entering items in the show volunteer for one shift during the event.  This is a month-long event. We can’t make it a success without you.  Please come to intake prepared to sign up for a shift if you haven’t already.
  • Goodyear will be open through Monday, November 25th at 4 p.m.  Set up takes place Tuesday the 26th through Thursday the 28th.
  • Merry Artists will run from Friday, November 29th through Tuesday December 31st this year.  Goodyear will be open regular hours December 31st
  • The Pottery Guild will host a Bake Sale Friday – Sunday, December 6th – 8th to support the campus expansion fund.  Please consider baking and donating some holiday goodies.
  • Removal of items will be on Wednesday, January 1st from 9 to 3 and Thursday, January 2 from 9-11.  No early pick-ups please.  We have very limited storage.  All items need to be picked up. If you are unable to pick up please try to arrange a “buddy” to do so.  It is not “ok” to just leave your items for the team to deal with.
  • At the closing of Merry Artists, we will be clearing all inventory in the computer.  Anything you are entering in the shop for the new year will need to be entered as a new item.   You may request new labels beginning December 15th.  Labels will be ready when you pick up Merry Artists Items.  Instructions for bringing new items in for the new year will be sent in a separate email.
  • Job descriptions for volunteers will be posted on our website and Sign Up Genius.  This year there will be training sessions for Cashier’s, hostesses and any other volunteers who want some directions.
