Beginning Watercolor II

This class is designed for students who have taken a beginning watercolor class, but don’t feel ready for an intermediate class. We will begin by doing a few paintings step by step together to review various techniques such as washes, lifting, trenching, hard lines vs. blended lines, credit card rocks, sponging, etc. Students will be doing directed paintings of subjects such as still lifes, landscapes, water birds, buildings, etc. They will gradually work toward painting from a photo of their choice. We will also spend some time during painting sessions discussing the importance of good composition, color and contrast in watercolor painting. Completion of this course should prepare students to move on to an intermediate course in watercolors.
